A lifeboat or life raft is a small, rigid or inflatable boat carried for emergency evacuation in the event of a disaster aboard a ship. Lifeboat drills are required by law on larger commercial ships. Rafts are also used. In the military, a lifeboat may double as a whaleboat, dinghy, or gig.
To inflate the Life Raft
Tie up the one end of the painter of raft into a strong point at the deck. Keep the container in the open and attach the davit hook to the given eye in the canister/ container. Take up the raft load by davit and keep the container hanging at the embarkation deck area. Pull the painter and inflate the raft.
